Open view of Running Pelta Jewelry Box,
showing lift-out tray with padded ring storage. Ring storage is
also in the deeper lower drawer, which is deep enough to hold an
inch and a half high object. The drawers have spring tensioned stops,
so they can only come out with a quick hard tuck, assuring that
you won't be dumping your jewelry onto the floor.
Here, with the tray off to the side,
one has a good view of the hardware, the Italian cylinder hinges and
Brusso lid-stay, both machined of solid brass, and the butterfly splines
at the mitres, which contrast nicely against the birds-eye maple.

Close-up of top of Running Pelta
Jewelry Box . The holly end grain has a real ivory-like quality.
The alignment of the holly accent lines at the corners is a final
challenge on a piece with many, many steps. This box comes with a
choice of two different "flavored" tops; bicolor (shown
at the top and on the other page) and tricolor. The tricolor is shown
above, with cherry added to the mix for a bit brighter composition.
The choice is yours --just let me know which you prefer when you order.
Here's the bicolor top up close. Over the years we've
sold near equal numbers of each, and among our aesthete artist friends
which is nicer is a great debate!
