Beveled Top Cherry Jewelry Box

with necklace and optional earring storage 15" X 11" X 5"

 
   
  This classic all solid cherry jewelry box features a beveled top with delicate ebony inlay banding emphasizing its bevels. Below, an open shot shows the innovative necklace storage and earring storage systems. The necklace box has a spring hinged, padded top section that places gentle tension on necklaces, preventing the inevitable entanglement common to inexpensive necklace "pouches" used by many box makers. This may be easily opened and closed with a flick of a finger. The optional earring tray allows 20 pairs of earrings to hang, with clearance beneath for up to 2.5" long danglies. The mitred tray has a two slot ring pad on on end , and flat divided storage on black velveteen in the other. For those of you who don't wear earrings, We can ship this box with the standard mitred tray with ring storage instead. Italian brass cylinder hinges, and solid brass lid stay by Brusso that I use in many of my boxes complete the hardware. The bottom dividers form nine compartments sized from earring to bracelet, and can be removed. I also have a slightly larger version of this box in koa. See below

  Here, shown with the two tray option, the regular tray has been placed on top of the earring tray, (a secure lock onto the earring holers below), allowing the two to slide together for full access below without removing either tray. The box won't close in this configuration --the tray will have to be placed back alongside its mate, as in the above photo.

Here's a one-of-a-kind koa version of the same box, a little wider, but otherwise the same basic construction as the cherry version. It has a bookmatched top that exhibits the chatoyance of curly koa -as your perspective changes the two sides sometimes contrast against each other, and other times appear at the same value. The earring tray holds 25 pairs of earrings.
